Telephone Trick

THE EFFECT: A card is freely chosen by a spectator and then you call up a friend who you say is a fellow magician. The magician on the phone tells the spectator the name of his chosen card!


THE SECRET: The spectator can choose any card they wish. No force is involved. However when they choose the card you need to look at it. Say that you will not reveal the card but in fact your friend who is a fellow magician will.


Telephone your magician assistant and when the call is answered you say "May I talk to the magician please". That is the code to let your friend know that you are doing the trick.


Immediately he needs to start saying "Clubs, Hearts, Spades, Diamonds". You need to stop him at the correct suit by saying "Yes please".


He now starts counting "Ace, Two, Three, Four...". When he reaches the correct number you say "Hang on I have a call for you". And you hand the phone to the spectator who chose the card.


The magician on the other end of the line then tells the spectator what card he chose. This is a very mystifying effect and has been perform by a lot of professional mentalists, do not pass it by!
