Math trick

Effect: You take 9 cards and make them into three piles. The spectator chooses a pile and you show him the bottom card. then you put it on top of all the other piles. Then you magically spell out the card. then after you are finished spelling it out, you spell "magic" and the 'c' turns out to be that card!


Secret: you let the spectator choose a pile and remember the bottom card and place it on top of the others. then spell the cards out like if its jack of spades then you spell J.a.c.k and deal the 4 cards on the table and put the rest on top. then spell O.f and deal the 2 cards on the table and put the rest on top. then spell S.p.a.d.e.s and deal the 5 cards on the table and put the rest on top. if you do this right, the bottom card of the pile the spectator choose will be the 5th card in the pack of the 9 cards. so you just spell out 'magic' and the 5th letter 'c' is the card!
