THE EFFECT: The magician takes a piece of paper and tears it into many small pieces then rolls it into a ball in his hands.
He takes a peanut out of his pocket and the magician lets the spectator hold the paper in his hand. He taps the paper three times with the magic peanut then he eats the peanut and takes the paper and opens it. Amazingly the paper is restored but of course it would never have worked without the magic peanut says the magician and in the middle of the paper is a peanut!
THE SECRET: Before you do the trick you need two indentacle looking pieces of paper and two peanuts. In one of the pieces of paper put a peanut and roll it into a ball and hide it in your hand.
Also put another peanut in your pocket. When you do the trick you tear the other piece of paper roll it into a ball in your hand then you pick up the peanut from your pocket. As you are doing this you also drop the teared pieces of paper and bring the hidden ball into view. Spectators will think that it is the torn pieces that you are holding in your hand.
Now give the paper to a spectator and tap the ball of paper three times with the magic peanut, then eat the peanut. Ask the spectator to open the paper and you say look the paper has healed itself - but it would never have worked without the magic peanut! They will see the peanut inside the paper.
