A person shows CARBON DIOXIDE written on a piece of paper (in capitals). Carbon is writen in blue ink and dioxide in red. When the person puts the 2 words behind the stem of a wine glass, 'CARBON' has been distorted, but 'DIOXIDE' remains the same. The magician explains that red is a magic colour, and that things writen in red are not distorted.
This trick works because DIOXIDE, in capital letters, is symmetrical horizontally. Because of that, the wine glass DOES turn it upside down, but the change is very little. The colours of the ink don't matter.
